As Batesville celebrates Small Business Month, it’s the perfect time to spotlight the locally owned shops that make downtown feel both vibrant and personal. One such business is MaeMae & Me—a boutique built on faith, family, and a passion for helping customers feel confident and cared for.

A Dream Rooted in Family

Owned by sisters Savanna Williams Cox and Blair Williams Brown, MaeMae & Me has been a part of downtown Batesville for three years—but its foundation was laid long before the storefront opened.

“Two sisters had a common dream to sell clothing that made people feel fabulous without breaking the bank that were modest for all sizes,” they shared. “We wanted all sizes and ages to walk into a friendly environment with options that are modest and appropriate for different occasions.”

The name itself reflects that vision. “The name MaeMae & Me embodies that mission because we wanted our Mom (known as MaeMae to her grandkids) all the way to the kids… to be able to do those things.”

What began as a small online venture almost came to an end before it ever fully took off. “Our business is owned by two sisters that started out as a little bitty online business that we were about to just stop completely until it worked out for us to open a store front.”

Through it all, they credit something bigger than themselves. “The Lord opened the doors by just making a way for it to be possible to open 3 years ago… He gets all the honor and glory for what He has done at our little store!”

Style That Serves Every Generation

MaeMae & Me focuses on offering stylish, modest clothing that works for women of all ages and sizes—without sacrificing affordability.

Customers appreciate the intentional care behind every item in the store. “There is so much care, time and effort put into selecting clothing for you that is good quality and price conscious because we know all too well our expensive things have gotten.”

Looking ahead, the sisters are continuing to grow and evolve their business. “We are constantly working to get our website updated to promote better online shopping options. We are also going to be running some fun specials this summer so watch our social media for more info.”

A Place Where Customers Feel Like Family

What truly sets MaeMae & Me apart isn’t just the clothing—it’s the experience.

“Customers love the friendly and loving atmosphere when they walk into our store. We want to provide the best customer service possible.”

That sense of connection keeps the owners motivated, even through the challenges of running a small business.

“The encouragement of those that come in and shop with us… it is always so fun to see everyone wearing their clothing they got from us and we appreciate it so much.”

Investing in the Heart of Downtown

For Savanna and Blair, being located in downtown Batesville is about more than just business—it’s about community.

“One of my favorite things about being downtown is almost every business is locally owned and operated,” they said. “You have people who love the community pouring back into the community through their businesses. You don’t get that with big name brands.”

They added, “When you come downtown, you are more than a dollar sign. You are a person who we enjoy getting to see coming in our store and getting to know.”

Celebrating Small Business Month

MaeMae & Me is a reflection of what makes downtown Batesville so special—locally owned, deeply personal, and rooted in purpose. From its beginnings as a small online shop to a thriving storefront on the square, this boutique continues to create a space where customers feel welcomed, valued, and confident.

During Small Business Month, businesses like MaeMae & Me remind the community that shopping local isn’t just about supporting a store—it’s about supporting people, dreams, and the heart of Batesville itself.
